Support our projects in Ecuador

The project – Since the beginning of 1998 Swisscontact has been implementing in El Salvador the project for advancement of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) “ProEmpresa”. In 2000 it has been extended to Nicaragua and in 2004 to Honduras. The main fields of activity are further education measures for SMEs and the cooperation between companies from the same industry. In doing so we would not only like to increase the individual competitiveness of single enterprises but also to stimulate the exchange of the branch as a whole. With this the governmental framework requirements can be influenced more easily. As a result of this department-specific approach we focus on selected branches. In the case of Nicaragua are these pastry shops and bakeries, beekeepers, hotels and restaurants.

To stimulate and improve the market for further training, “ProEmpresa” developed a coupon system that allows entrepreneurs from SMEs of the selected departments to participate in further training with reduced cost. At the same time we empower the advancement of services by further training providers. Support of the exchange between course providers and SMEs, help in developing new course content and partial funding of the personnel help us to achieve our goals.

In the sector of consultancy we advance group sessions for multiple enterprises from the same department. Thus not only the cost is reduced, but also the group dynamics between the entrepreneurs animated.
