Support our projects in Ecuador

From February 19 – 24, 2008 we had our colleagues of Swisscontact Indonesia and our partners from the Cashew nut project on Flores Island as guests. With this project we were able to help the farmers to improve their opportunities on the global market by organic certification.

Our guests contributed importantly to the panel discussion “Partnerships for development. Impact and challenges for Indonesia and Germany along the value chain" that we executed within the framework of BioFach fair. Representatives of the organisations involved in different parts of the Cashew nut value chain introduced the project’s concept to the attendants.
Additionally we arranged a three-day study tour on organic food for our guests. On this tour we visited the “Bäuerliche Erzeugergemeinschaft Schwäbisch Hall” (a farmers’ association), organic distributor “Dennree” and different shops, health food shops and organic supermarkets like “Basic” and “Vitalia”. Adjacent to our official program with many productive meetings we found some space to show our Indonesian friends parts of Germany. The study tour was very instructive and exiting and we had great fun together. Thanks to all participants and supporters!
